Litigation Avoided Due to Proactive Investigation

We were contacted by the General Council and CFO of a distribution company. The company was facing the prospect of multiple lawsuits arising from inappropriate sexual conduct by one of its supervisors. We conducted an extensive investigation, confronted the supervisor, and obtained his full confession. We then arranged for him to meet with the employees involved and apologize. Result: The supervisor was summarily terminated. The employees were gratified by the decisive actions taken by the company and agreed to seek no further action.

For the past 25 years we have worked closely with the General Council of a national restaurant chain based in Houston. Over the years we have conducted many internal and external investigations into criminal actions and civil wrongs. We also assisted their Risk Manager with injury claims made by employees and guests. We also advised the company on security strategies that they have adopted into their daily operations. Result: Our investigations have disrupted theft rings, recovered stolen property, and obtained full confessions from guilty employees and outside conspirators.

Company Investigation Results in Arrest After Police Investigation Failed

We were asked to help a publicly traded restaurant company who was plagued by serial robberies at several of their Dallas area locations. The robberies were becoming more violent and police were getting nowhere with their investigation.   The police investigators never interviewed certain employee witnesses. We began our investigation by interviewing all of the victims and witnesses, systematically.   Through these interviews we were able to gather pieces of information that lead to a partial license plate of a get-away vehicle. Using this partial license plate and vehicle description we found a full registration for the vehicle. The vehicle was registered to a woman in south Dallas. Further investigation revealed that two of her sons had recently been released from prison after serving time for robbery. We provided this information to the police and they reluctantly followed up. Result: The information our investigation developed resulted in arrests against the suspects in our client’s robberies, and charges in numerous other robberies in the Metroplex.

Internal Investigation Results in Recovery of All Monies Lost

A major moving and storage company contacted us regarding a problem they discovered in their fuel accounts. Our investigation learned that certain drivers had higher than normal fuel purchases. We gathered facts and confronted the drivers—resulting in confessions. One driver agreed to cooperate and make contact with the buyer of the stolen fuel. The driver sold additional fuel while wearing a concealed micro-camera and microphone. Using this evidence, the company filed suit to recover the money they lost.   Result: Based on the evidence gathered through our investigation, the suit was successful.   The Defendant’s business settled, agreeing to fully reimburse our client for their losses, and agreed to pay both the attorney and our investigative fees.
